Hello From Mommyhood!

Hi Everyone!!! I'm so sorry for not posting sooner, but I just couldn't bear to post something over those beautiful pictures that Kelle took at the hospital. I thought about posting EVERY DAY, but couldn't bring myself to post about the week and not have someone see those pictures as soon as they logged on!!

Lily is here.

Lily is perfect.

Lily is heaven.

Lily is too good to be true.

I really feel like we have a slice of heaven living in our house and it permeates throughout! I feel like I went to the hospital and someone took my heart out of my body and gave it to Lily! I went in to deliver a baby, but it turned into a heart transplant. Jen told me when she had her kids that she compared it to someone taking your heart and adding arms and legs and there you have your child. That is exactly how it feels.

Everyone told me what to expect, but no one could prepare me for the feelings of content, vulnerability, love and peace I feel having Lily here. I feel like she's been here my whole life. Seeing David with Lily is enough to make my heart burst and I want to tell him 100 times a day how much I love him because he is such an amazing father, totally blowing my expectations out of the water. He is such a natural. Seeing friends and family love on Lily makes my heart so full; I could watch people who love her interact with her all day. I never thought I could have this much joy in my life.

I could write about breastfeeding woes, lactation consultants, doctor visits, but that is for another time and the focus of today's post is just Lily. Our love for her. Our thankfulness to you for loving her like you do and praying for her everyday in the past, present and future. I'm a better person for knowing Lily. She inspires me already.

She is here.

She is heaven.

She is perfect.

She is ours.

She is our heart.

Forever.

I don't know how we'll ever thank Kelle for taking these newborn pictures of our angel. There are no words for these pictures. She captured Lily in her essence. Pure heaven. Please go see her talents and Lily's best friend at http://enjoyingthesmallthings.blogspot.com/

Kelle captures the essence of Lily in this picture. She is like this most of the day and night.
Cute. Cuddly. Content.

She's snuggly...

She's itty bitty...

She's adorable inside and out...

She completes our family...

She loves unconditionally...

She is happy when she's awake...

She loves her fingers...

She is the center of our life...

We are better people for having her here.
Lily, thank you for being you and filling our hearts with pure love. xoxo

Tears flowing. I am so grateful. And I am so happy for you both I can't stand it.

To watch my baby sister fulfill her hard fought dream to become a mother...and finally live it...and love it...and feel the indescribable bonds of parenthood in her heart and soul...is a dream come true for me as well.

My heart is so full.

She really is a piece of heaven.
I love Lily like my own...and I can't wait to love her and nurture her into the person she is meant to be. I just know she is destined for great things.

And...Kelly and David...just watching you love your daughter together, one thing is certain:

YOU

ARE

MEANT

TO

BE

PARENTS.

I love the three of you so much!!!

Tears. Heaven. And the pictures are for me. Seriously, I don't even feel like I'm giving a gift except for myself because I get so much joy out of capturing her love. I didn't want to put her down today. I miss her tonight... so does Lainey. I tell her about how much we love Lily and what a special friend she will be. If she's half to Lainey of what you have been to me, Lainey is a lucky girl. 143. Love this post. Love your love.

How do I possibly express the joy I have in my heart for you, Kelly and David.

You went through so many highs and lows along the way, but you stayed true and constant to the end result. Lily is the beautiful embodiment of the road you have traveled.

The word that summarizes Lily is PERFECT. She is tiny, delicate and beautiful. She is the symbol of the love that you and David have for each other and now share with Lily.

These pictures are amazing. I love the feet ones.

You will be the most incredible parents. You will fill Lily's life with love and hugs and cuddles and the security of knowing that she is soooo loved.

Such happiness, such contentment, such love.

I am so proud of the journey you have made and I can't wait to know and love Lily.

Love,
Mom

It is amazing how your heart swells, isn't it? When I was pregnant I was worried my heart couldn't expand enough to accommodate this new person at the center of my life. And now, I feel like I have known my bug for years instead of four months. Cliche, but one of those sentiments I didn't comprehend until I was a parent. You are a parent! Congrats.
